The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

My life since graduating from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, in 1967, at the age of twenty, has been an interesting and diverse journey that began in a high school English classroom in New Jersey, moved through a state prison, and has brought me to a peaceful home on a lake in Tampa, Florida. Along the way, I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Theatre from Montclair State University in 1974, many awards as a theatre teacher and director, and a pension from the state of New Jersey, after retiring from my position as Administrator (Warden) of East Jersey (formerly Rahway) State Prison. The journey also included three marriages, an annulment and two divorces, and one fine son. After retiring in 1995, I moved to Tampa and taught Criminology classes at the University of South Florida until 2003. I continue to play tennis, enjoy the wildlife, and work on that great American novel I promised my Penn State English professors I would write some day. I have continued to support Penn State University and am a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. I have never forgotten how much Penn State shaped my dreams, my opinions, my values, my life. The five of us who lived together in State College back then (so long ago, Joe wasn't the head coach our freshman year) still keep in touch and visit each other from time to time.
